Saudi Aramco Scholarship Students Complete Work Placement at Shipham Valves

Ahmed Kadhem Alasseel, currently studying Chemistry at Aston University, and Saleh Abdualrhman Almuqrin currently studying Mechanical Engineering at Newcastle University, have completed a month long work placement at Shipham Valves.

Following a successful first year for the students at their respective universities, Ahmed and Saleh have worked with our employees during August of this year experiencing the different departments and disciplines across our business. From the initial design stages through to assembling the valves prior to the factory acceptance pressure tests, both students now have a clear and firm understanding of the manufacturing processes involved in producing a valve suitable for critical and highly corrosive applications such as seawater service.

In addition to hands on experience, Ahmed and Saleh also enjoyed some tuition from our technical director Mr Ron Strang to better understand the different types of valve design with a special focus on the ‘AVT’ non-metallic composite valve range.

From everyone at Shipham Valves, we would like to wish both Ahmed and Saleh the very best for the continuation of their studies, scholarship programme and future careers with Saudi Aramco.
